These two results continue to emerge from Trump's election denial antics.

Result #1:  The more lawsuits; the more fundraising. And mostly off the backs of working class Trumpers who can ill afford to send money to a rich guy, with the lion’s (or liar’s ) share going towards a Save America Pac and not towards the legal defenses. So, futile or not, each new legal challenge is another way to spur a new BS-fan scatter of “please donate to the cause” and rake it in.

(See wonderful cartoon above.)

I’d love to ask these people to wake up and smell the grift, but then again, these were the kind of folks who traveled hours on two separate Saturdays, to protest for a president who did not personally address them but had to keep a golf date instead.

Result #2: Trump gives the rest of us a black eye, while giving the RNC a broken leg.  In other words, while Democrats and Centrists are distressed at the behavior, each new lawsuit’s gambit and loss, peels off another layer of halfway-sane Republicans. The latest Supreme Court snub has legislators like Romney and Sasse , backing farther away in disgust. Generating more articles and interviews with local Republicans who voted for Trump but now saying enough is enough. What is gained by Trump turning on his own like Kemp and other officials? Remember, he lost Arizona, in part, because he couldn’t shut up about bashing McCain. (And Georgia because he had to rag on John Lewis. No disrespect to Stacey Abrams!)

And let’s do the numbers: even if this firms up the base, but results in a loss of even 5% of supporters, that’s a percentage the Republicans can’t afford to lose. So it could really be a case of punch the country while breaking your own limbs.

You tell me what effect all this could have, good or bad, on the Georgia Runnoffs.

This could all be a lesson for Democrats about keeping unity going forward. Progressives: be careful with raising too much objection to Joe’s picks before inauguration.

By now there have to be some Republicans muttering: what are we going to do to put a lid on this guy in the next five weeks to keep the party together? It ain’t us Democrats that Trump is fracturing; it’s you all.
